Equalizer dialog
16-band realtime equalizer

Apollo provides a realtime equalizer for all supported file formats. The equalization is done either by the input plug-in or by the built-in generic equalizer, depending on the capabilities of the input plug-in in question.

Sliders

The window contains 17 sliders. The first of them is marked as "Pre-Amp". The "Pre-Amp" setting affects all areas of the sound spectrum. The other 16 sliders are marked with a frequency and, as one would expect, they affect the sound spectrum near the labeled frequency. Clicking the button under each slider will reset its value to 0dB.

Note that using large values may cause the dynamic range of the sound data to be exceeded and thus result in distorted sound. Should this happen, use the "Pre-Amp" slider to lower the overall amplification.

Check this to turn on the equalizer.

Use preset links

This must be checked in order to have Apollo automatically use your linked equalizer presets for each track.

Loudness

This option will give an extra boost to high and low sounds. It is useful when playing in a noisy environment or with low volume setting. This has no effect unless the equalizer is enabled.

Presets

You can give a name to and save your equalizer settings. It is also possible to export and import presets (you can share your settings with your friends, for instance).

You can also link a track to certain preset. If Apollo cannot find a preset for some track, the default preset will be used. To se the default preset, select a preset from the preset list and click the Default button.
